I enjoy hot baths. Warm, cozy pajamas. Cups of steaming, cinnamon apple tea. A well researched hiking trail. (Research in general.) Thoroughly planned, leave-no-stone-unturned vacation itineraries. A list of television shows, prerecorded and waiting for me on the DVR. Dipping my foot into the water before I get in. Continue reading

What Different Social Media Means to Me
Entrepreneurs, listen up! Every Jim, Jane and Nancy claims to be a social media expert. In this fast-paced world of ever-changing technology, the term “social media expert” is a little ridiculous. Sure, there are people who are crafted at leading others to powerful strategies. But, I highly doubt any of them would consider themselves to be actual experts. Because, you see, as soon as they’ve mastered everything from yesterday, a bunch of new stuff launches and they have to learn everything all over again. (So, please be skeptical if you meet someone who calls themselves an “expert” – at anything really. There is always something new to learn, and no one is an actual expert!) Continue reading
In Autumn Mojave Desert: A Recap
Autumn comes and goes quickly here in the Mojave Desert. Sandwiched between sweltering summer days and pretty damn cold winter nights, it’s a little slice of heaven. Temperature highs ranging from about 60 to 70 degrees with a rejuvenating breeze… yep, that’s autumn. And I LOVE it. All of my life spent here, and you can say I am quite cognizant of the brevity of this dear season. It’s during such days that I try to remind myself to live in the moment. (Confession: I haven’t lived in the moment as much as I’d like, these days. But, I’m certainly going to try. ) Continue reading
Las Vegas Photography Holiday Specials
‘Tis the season for smiles, cute little banners, and twinkling lights. For candy canes, funny red Santa hats, and puppies jumping out of gift boxes. For family traditions, baking and Hanukkah candles. For ugly sweaters or “Gap ad-esque” outfits. Or whatever says, “Happy Holidays” to you. Continue reading
Golden Question: What Are You Excited About?
What are you excited about? No, really. What are you excited about? If you don’t know, or your answer is “nothing,” then it’s best you hurry up and find something quick.
For me, “What am I excited about?” is a question that helps me keep my “happy-o-meter” in check. It’s one of my keys to living a zestful life. Here, I’ll explain… Continue reading
Otherworldy: China Bend Winery
My Aunt Ceil’s recommendation to check out the highly-acclaimed China Bend Winery brought us to the Eastern Washington-Canadian border this past July. (My bf, Dave; my brother, Marco; and me.) Looking back on the visit now, the entire experience seems like a dream…
China Bend Winery itself is its own little world. Another Universe, really. It was as if we had stepped into the future AND the past, simultaneously – a 1960s hippie community, and a future Utopian society on a planet very similar to ours, located many Earth AND Light Years away. Continue reading
I did a terrible, terrible thing
I did a terrible, terrible thing. A destructive, poisonous, life-threatening thing. I stopped believing in myself.
I don’t know when it happened. But it happened. I don’t know how long ago it happened. But it happened. And I let it happen. It’s a terrible thing to do, and I did it. To myself. Continue reading

Graduating high school is a big deal, as it marks a huge milestone in one’s life. It’s a bridge between childhood and young adulthood. It’s a time when you start to make personal choices about your future. Will you go to college? Will you live at home? Will you work part-time? Will you work full-time? What do you want to do with the rest of your life? It’s a time for trying new things, figuring it out, rising above obstacles, and making choices that will affect the rest of your life. It opens up a new chapter, one which YOU get to write (not your parents). The symbolism associated with graduating high school is one of “coming to age,” and that is so significant… Continue reading
Dealing with Darkness
“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.” – Carl Jung
When it comes to the question, “What matters most in life?” The root answer is almost always happiness. It’s the underlying motivator behind our deepest heart’s desires… the objective of pretty much anything we strive for. Happiness is what matters most in life. But not at the expense of truth, honesty, self-awareness, or the opportunity to grow from our pain. Continue reading
