When Meagan told me to expect sunny weather for our shoot, I had my doubts. I knew that the weather in the Inland Empire had been just as menopausal as it had been in Las Vegas. You know, one day really hot; and then another day, slightly cool and super windy. It was pretty difficult to know what to expect during spring of 2013.

I’m sure whomever coined the expression intended it to be one that would put a stop to excuses. Kind of like a “Oh, you had good intentions? Too bad! You screwed up! The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. All of the screw-ups had good intentions. Of course YOU had good intentions, too, silly!”

This past Tuesday, April 23rd marked the One Month Anniversary of Daddy’s accident. As I look back, I see a journey of many emotions. No one emotion held for too long. A constantly changing tide of feelings.

That is grief. Healthy grief. Like with anything in life, it’s different for every one of us. It’s an extremely personal experience. My grief is unique to me. It’s not better or worse than the one you’ve experienced, are experiencing or will experience. It’s just different. Continue reading →
