PicsArt is the best free photo editing app. Here’s why…
When it comes to finding a good photo editing app for my phone, the ability to slap a filter onto an image just isn’t enough. Sure, instagram is fun. But it alone does NOT satisfy my need for creative control.
Family, friends and clients have often heard me babble on and on about how much I love the photo editing process, and how I have the same passion for that aspect as I do the actual photo-taking/shutter-clicking. I would liken post-processing to doodling or coloring. It’s fun, fun, fun… Playtime, for sure!
Photoshop is the center of my digital darkroom, and serves my professional needs. But, for carefree photos taken on the fly with my phone, I turn to… PicsArt.
In PicsArt’s own words, the photo editing and drawing app is a “full art studio packed into a mobile photography solution.” And, I couldn’t agree more.
Here’s why I love it:
Allows you to control the opacity of an effect (for us “less is more folks,” that’s really important)
Offers tons of customization

Features text effects, callouts, collaging, cropping, drawing, doodling, sketching, cross processing, stickers, text effects and more
Supports basic editing, such as cropping, red eye remover, masks, and more
Permits you to use multiple effects if you so desire
Is a nice complement to other photo editing/sharing apps, such as instagram (as demonstrated in the images above)
PicsArt is available on both Android and iOS for the low-price of… FREE (and, who doesn’t LOVE that?).
It’s also a social network. (I’m not active in the PicsArt community yet, but I’m sure one of these days, I’ll check it out.)
